Ford Aerospace Corporation Western Regional Headquarters

Built

250 Innovation Drive, San Jose, CA, USA

Four interconnected building campus containing flexible R&D, design, and small products manufacturing space. The buildings are clustered to create a square and central drop-off zone. The steel frame structures are clad in lightweight precast concrete panels, and each building is edged with an outdoor gallery space and linked to the others with covered arcades.

The building footprints and structural bay spacings were determined early on, allowing purchase of steel sections and site grading well ahead of design completion.
