CSU Bakersfield student housing

8501 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93311, USA

Lined by thoughtfully designed student housing and natural landscaping, the Paul Romberg Walk is nothing if not visually impressive. While the length and scale of the development could seem intimidating, the spatial arrangement and pedestrian vitality make it feel almost homey. On a typical day the Paul Romberg Walk will be filled with studens walking to and from class and members of the surrounding community taking advantage of on-site services.

Immediate area residents (mostly CSU Bakersfield students) use it frequently for socializing or just as the most pleasant route entering campus. It is unavoidable to pass through roadrunner walk if one must enter campus from the northeast along Stockdale highway. One of the appealing advantages of the Paul Romberg Walk is the dramatic qualities of the space that can only be experiences once walking down it.

The place makes a striking first impression for the campus. Perscribed seating areas create spaces for socialization and interaction throughout the length of the site. The Paul Romberg Walk also creates a feeling of safety for students walking through campus late at night.

Throughout the year, the Paul Romberg Walk will serve as the main outdoor place for students to hang out. Student and community services on the ground floor attract people to the space.

Even when in a hurry to class, a student cannot pass through roadrunner walk without exchanging a number of hellos. CSU Bakersfield students will definitely take pride in the Paul Romberg Walk; it is the gateway of their campus and the heart of their student life.
