400 S. Sepulveda Blvd. medical office building
Built
400 South Sepulveda Boulevard, Manhattan Beach, CA, USA
The building and parking occupy an entire city block along a major city street. The entrance is a large, two story atrium space placed at the center of the site. The space is expressed as a glass box set within a colonnade of 3 story tilt-up concrete panels. The entrance is clearly distinguished from the attached diagnostic center, acting as a beacon day and night and as the starting point for the simple internal loop circulation pattern.
The structural system is an innovative combination of tilt-up concrete and pre-cast concrete plank technology. The project included all of the interior health planning, design and documentation.
The complex won a prestigious regional design award.
